At Kcunac, we encourage thoughtful sharing and real conversations. As we grow, we want to make sure our platform continues to reflect those values, and that means reducing what we call low-value content.
What Is Low Effort Content?
Low effort content refers to posts that lack context, originality, or meaningful contribution. Common examples include:
- A screenshot of a news headline without any caption or comment
- A meme or image posted with no description or context
- A single emoji or word that gives no real insight
- Repetitive or copy-pasted content across multiple Communities
These posts tend to clutter the Home Feed, limit engagement, and don’t reflect the thoughtful, neighbour-led platform we’re building.
Why It Matters
Kcunac isn’t just a place to scroll, it’s a place to connect, share, and discuss. Low effort content often leads to:
- Confusion or misunderstanding
Fewer meaningful conversations - A Home Feed that feels noisy instead of engaging
We want the Home Feed to reflect your voice, not just passive content.
What We Ask
When you post, ask yourself:
- “Am I adding something to the conversation?”
- “Would I engage with this if I saw it in my feed?”
- “Does this reflect the kind of platform I want to be part of?”
We encourage everyone to:
- Include a caption or short thought with images or memes
- Avoid dropping just a link or headline without commentary
- Personalize your posts to make them feel like you, not just a broadcast
How It’ll Work
- Posts flagged as low effort may be removed or hidden from the Home Feed
- Repeat posting of content with no context may result in a friendly reminder from our moderation team
- We’ll always prioritize education over punishment, and we’re here to help if you’re unsure how to improve your post
